We can help you with a range of personal and family issues
Anxiety and depressionNearly everyone suffers from anxiety and/or depression at some point in their life. But for some these feelings can become all-consuming, preventing them from functioning properly day to day. There are many causes for someone to become clinically anxious and/or depressed. Sometimes it is due to current pressures of life; sometimes it reflects a long-past trauma which hasn't been fully processed; sometimes it is a hormonal imbalance which can be treated medically.
We have helped many people deal with anxiety and depression in their many forms, talking through the causes and strategies to help them improve their low mood and/or anxiety. |
Grief and lossWhether it is the death of a loved one, being made redundant at work, the ending of a close friendship/relationship, or the passing of a family pet - all types of loss can cause an intense grief response which can be quite debilitating. Sometimes, other strong emotions are brought on as well - anger, guilt, loneliness, shame - making the situation very difficult to cope with.
Having someone to talk to about the grief and any associated emotions can be helpful and enable you to feel less overwhelmed. We have been able to help many individuals struggling to process such grief and, when ready, find a way to honour their loss and move forward. |
Relationships and parentingEven the best relationships can suffer with all life's pressures. Financial difficulties, intimacy or communication issues can create challenges which threaten to break even the most loving bond.
Whether the relationship is between a couple or a parent and child, the stress can be difficult to cope with for all involved. We have helped couples (as couples or as individuals) work through relationship issues in a safe environment. We have also worked with parents on how to improve their relationships with their kids and strategies to build a healthy family bond. |
TraumaTrauma in our personal or working lives can be extremely powerful, leaving emotional scars that can be hard to heal even decades later (eg from childhood trauma). Post traumatic triggering can be exhausting, while survival responses or self-protective behaviours like hypervigilance can make us feel safer but create other issues (eg mistrust).
We have helped many people suffering from trauma, the fear it engenders and the destructive effect it can have on our wellbeing and relationships. |
Workplace stress or opportunityThe workplace can be a source of great opportunity, but also has potential for negative experiences from bullying and harassment, through to serious injury of ourselves or a colleague.
We have experience of working through both the opportunities and the challenges presented by workplaces, including helping people handle workplace stress or manage bullying or harassment issues. Craig is also an experienced career counselor and coach who has helped many people work through unlocking their personal potential. He is also an experienced employee assistance program (EAP) provider. |
Men's issuesThe male role in society has changed and become much more nuanced over the last 20 years. Expectations around masculinity and male gender roles have evolved. This change between childhood experience and modern expectation can impact mental health and emotional resilience.
We have helped a range of men experiencing difficulty navigating these changes. |
